The picturesque Chichkan gorge is on the Bishkek-Osh highway, just behind the Ala-Bel pass at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. Chychkan means “mouse” in Kyrgyz. It got such a name, because in the gorge there livea lot of field mice.
Slopes in the Chychkan gorge cover the Tien-Shan firs, archa, wild thickets of barberry, blackberries. On the bottom of the Chichkangorge there is a rapid mountain river with the same name.
