Don’t miss the opportunity to visit three of four UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kyrgyzstan!  In the afternoon we will hike in the beautiful Issyk-Ata Gorge not far from Bishkek city.

Itinerary

Meeting point and time: Main door of the State Historical Museum, Ala Too Square, 9 am.

 

09:00-10:00 Drive to Tokmok town

10:00-11:30 Burana Museum Complex visit

11:30-12:30 Drive to Issyk-Ata Gorge

12:30-13:30 Lunch (not included)

14:00-15:30 Hiking to the waterfall

15:30-17:00 Free time for more hiking around the area or swimming in the mineral hot springs

17:00-18:30 Drive back to Bishkek

 

In the morning we drive to Burana Tower (UNESCO site) near Tokmok town (1,5 hours).

That minaret was constructed in Balasagun town, one of the capitals of Karakhanid State existed in 8-12 centuries AD. We explore ruins of that important trading point at the Great Silk Road and visit a little local museum with the artifacts found at the territory telling about that civilization. Also watch a collection of Balbals, Turkic ancient tombs.

Please remember to bring snacks, lunch is not included.

Around 12 pm we drive to Issyk Ata Gorge.

Issyk Ata Gorge is 77 km or 1.5-hour drive from Bishkek city and 52 km or 1 hour from Burana . Upon arrival, get ready for the hiking.

The most optimal way to warm your muscles is to head to the local famous waterfall that can be reached in one – 1.5 hour by the light hiking.

After please have free time to walk around the area or swim in the mineral hot springs. Meet each other at the parking lot at 5 pm and drive back to Bishkek.

The tour ends at around 18:30 pm you can be brought to your hotel, or any place agreed in advance.

Not included:

-Lunch in a local café about 15 USD p/p.

-Spanish, Kyrgyz, French, Japanese speaking guide – please check with the responsible manager the availability of a guide and extra charge.

Additional Info

 Useful things to take with you:

  1. Wind-stopper
  2. Warm/waterproof jacket
  3. Personal first aid kit
  4. You may want to have walking sticks
  5. Flask for water.
  6. Sunglasses.
  7. Photo camera.
  8. Daily backpack.
  9. Sun-screen cream ( SPF 30 or higher).
  10. Swimming suit for hot springs bath.

Necessary things to take with you:

  1. Hat (remember – the sun could be violent)
  2. Good trekking boots for hiking in the mountains
  3. Long sleeved shirt and trousers (no shorts or topics).
